Futura Wear Blocks (wear runners) are designed to protect abrasion-intensive areas on large quarry and mining wheel loader buckets. These cast-alloy blocks are strategically placed onto high-impact areas like the underside of the bucket and side plates where constant rock loading and back-dragging rapidly erode base metal. The Futura wheel loader bucket wear block assembly includes a weld-on base plate, hardened bolt-on wear block, and heavy duty fasteners for quick, easy installation and replacement.

Wear blocks (wear runners) are positioned in areas where rock flows or grinds against the bucket, including: underside bucket floor, side plates and transition zones, heel and corner impact areas, and high-contact material flow paths.
They act as sacrificial reinforcement, taking abrasion and impact instead of the bucket’s base metal. This prevents premature shell thinning, delays cracking, and reduces the frequency of structural rebuilds.
The base plate is welded to the wheel loader bucket. The wear block slides on to the base plate and is securely locked with either a mechanical pin or with bolts and nuts, depending on the wear block system. Esco Kwik-Lok and Caterpillar style wear blocks are mechanically attached with a pin, whereas Hensley style wear blocks are typically bolt-on. Any wheel loader operating in highly abrasive material and rock. But typically, Futura Wear Blocks are designed for 80 to 200+ tonne class wheel loaders. They are fitted to loader buckets on Cat 990, 992, 993, 995; Komatsu WA700, WA800, WA900, WA1200, WE1350, WE1850, WE2350; and other similar models.
